Saucha’s mission is to make it convenient to have healthy, consciously-crafted products available to the Cayman community.
Our vision is to live in a world in harmony with each other and with the earth. To eat what is seasonal and locally grown is eating for optimal health and healing opportunities. The methods and resources we use are low-impact on the environment from meal packaging to uniform shirts (business cards?). We view the dollars we spend as an investment in our community, supporting local farmers and small businesses.
Eat Like You Give A Damn
Our food traveled less than 15 miles from earth to plate, resulting in optimal nourishment because of seasonal eating, denser nutrition because food is vibrant and full of life. Grown by people with integrity. You should eat that.
To eat like you give a damn means to care about yourself, the world, and others with every product you consume.
Your body, mind and soul are being fed with every bite you take. Health starts in the gut. That’s not just physical health. That’s your mental health too.
The bigger picture
How far did that produce travel to get to your fridge, eventually feeding your body, and that of your family? What chemicals were used on it? Who grew it? Picked it? Cleaned it? What kind of mood were they in? Or was it a machine that did it? Who are your dollars supporting? An industry of food? Or your local farmer? Are you helping to put food on his/her family’s table? Does it brighten your day to go to the market and talk to your favorite farmer about how the crops are doing, and what they are struggling with this week (rain, worms, summer heat)? Are you able to talk to your farmer about what chemicals they are using for pest control and fertilization? Have you visited the farm to see where everything is grown and talk to the modest but passionate farmers?
What are you feeding yourself? Are you feeding a disease or fighting it? You make that decision with every meal you choose. Is it made by hands with love? What mood was the person in when preparing your nourishment? We consume more than calories and nutrients when we eat.
